Tom Miers

Tom Miers is a writer and public policy analyst. He is currently working in Brussels for the think-tank New Direction.

Tom is author of The Devolution Distraction, a critique of Scottish politics over the last decade. His recent book Democracy and the Fall of the West is about the relationship between democracy and liberalism.

Tom also writes fiction under the pen-name David Capel. His latest novel, East & West, is set in the 11thC Byzantine Empire.

On the research side, Tom works with a number of organisations on the interface between business and politics. Specialisms include economic and political research, policy development and advocacy, media relations and management consultancy.
