Tom Miers

Tom Miers is the author of The Bargain, a new book explaining how the Union benefits Scotland and what we can do to save it.

He serves as a local councillor for Melrose and Leaderdale in the Scottish Borders. Until 2020 he was the portfolio holder for Planning and Environment on the local council.

Tom also runs a public policy consultancy working with a number of organisations on the interface between business and politics. Specialisms include economic analysis, policy development and advocacy, media relations and management consultancy.

He has also written a number of short books and  papers on public policy and is a regular columnist in the media. This site contains a selection of his articles, blogs and other publications.
